Former Alabama K Will Reichard signs rookie contract for Minnesota Vikings
Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The ink has dried on a rookie contract for one of the most consistent performers in the Nick Saban era for Alabama football.

Will Reichard, a former kicker for the Crimson Tide, signed his four-year deal on Sunday for the Minnesota Vikings. The team shared a photo of Reichard signing via Instagram as it took him in the sixth round of the NFL Draft.

Reichard finished his collegiate career as the NCAA’s all-time leader for points (547) and earned first-team All-Southeastern Conference honors last season. The Hoover (Ala.) won SEC Special Teams Player of the Year in 2023, captured three SEC Championship rings (2020-21, 2023), and a College Football Playoff National Championship ring in 2020. He took away all kicking concerns during his five years in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Alabama fans never worried about if Reichard could not make a kick.

Reichard gave Saban something very special upon getting drafted.

The 72-year-old now has a player at each position selected to the National Football League from the University of Alabama.

According to Spotrac, Reichard’s contract is worth $4.19 million for four years. He has a signing bonus of $170,620 and an average salary of $1.04 million. Reichard would pocket $1.23 million by his fourth year in the league.

He excelled at Alabama, but Tide fans know he’s ready to crush it in the league.
